HostGator Speed for WordPress
I recently moved this blog to HostGator, which comes with an extraordinarily low price tag. Initially worried about moving to a company whose tag line is “we eat up the competition”, I was pleasantly surprised by the speed test for my HostGator site. Here’s a sample of one of the many I did.

As a comparison, I ran a similar test on a dedicated co-located Windows server, run by a friend of mine. It came back in 2.11 sec, twice as slow.
I moved this site from the Rackspace Cloud, and haven’t looked back. Everything is better: the control panel, the support, and most importantly, the bill.
I Googled for a review of WordPress on Host Gator and found your page. Then I looked up your Website in webpagetest.org and it’s over 12 seconds of loading time… extremely slow.
Any update?
When I signed up, things were extremely good. Lately, I’ve been noticing this isn’t the case. I’ve hooked up pingdom and will publish the results soon.
